The Best Jobs in the World!

The popular ‘best job in the world’ campaign is back, and this time there isn’t just one exciting position available, but six!

Last time this campaign was launched, the lucky applicant became ‘Caretaker of Hamilton Island’ on the Great Barrier Reef. This time the six roles on offer take you to a variety of locations within Australia, from the bustling city of Melbourne to the tranquil setting of Kangaroo Island.
For the lucky applicant in each role, a 6 month contract and A$100,000 package (covering salary and living costs) is provided to help you set off on the adventure of a lifetime. Take a look below at the positions available.

Wildlife Caretaker: South Australia
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to swim with dolphins and sea lions, and get paid for it? If so, this job is for you! Becoming the ‘Wildlife Caretaker’ on Kangaroo Island will give you the chance to see a whole variety of animals, and live on one of the most beautiful islands in the world. Part of your role will be to nurture the amazing ecosystem within the island, and share your experiences through social media.
Exploring the island on foot, by kayak or 4x4 you’ll witness some amazing things and really get to know the wildlife that call the island their home. Naturally there is an abundance of kangaroos to meet, along with more koalas than you can count. You’ll also get the chance to visit the Eyre Peninsula, where you can swim with dolphins and sea lions, and even go cage diving with great white sharks if you’re feeling adventurous!

Taste Master: Western Australia
One of Australia’s best features is its food, with a whole host of different produce for you to try. If you love gourmet cuisine and discovering new recipes, this is the role for you. The lucky applicant will tour some of Western Australia’s finest restaurants, and visit world-class breweries and vineyards in search of the best tastes to report back on. To mix things up a bit you’ll also source some of the produce yourself, by catching the freshest and tastiest seafood in the area.

Park Ranger: Queensland
Another one for the wildlife fans, the ‘Park Ranger’ role offers a great opportunity to become one with nature and discover the stunning scenery of Queensland. Whilst exploring the national parks, checking the water temperature and patrolling the beaches, you’ll be blown away by the magnificence of this destination. Ancient rainforests, picturesque waterfalls and the Great Barrier Reef await you!

Lifestyle Photographer: Melbourne
This role is perfect for those city lovers who have a passion for photography. Becoming a lifestyle photojournalist in Melbourne, you’ll use your talent in photography, writing and videography to capture the way people live in the city. Discovering new locations in Melbourne, events and festivals, you’ll work for a leading media company, Time Out Melbourne, to learn how people eat, drink and let loose in the city. You’ll really get to show you creative side in this role by reporting back with some stunning photo and video content.

Chief Funster: New South Wales
Another one for the city types, you can unleash your social side by becoming the ‘Chief Funster’ in Sydney. If you love partying, you’ll love this job! You’ll attend all the best events and festivals, and even help set some up yourself to create a real buzz in the city. Being the life of the party, you’ll comment on your experiences using social media – now who wouldn’t love to get paid to do that?

Outback Adventurer: Northern Territory
The successful applicant to the ‘Outback Adventurer’ position will be someone with a love for the outdoors and a passion for seeking adventure. With the vast outback as your playground, you’ll uncover the best secrets and activities of the region to report back to holidaymakers. Experiencing the land from a totally different perspective, you’ll take a hot air balloon tour, do a bit of stargazing, and learn a few things you didn’t know about Australia’s culture.
